Back in the day when I was a cub reporter in Nebraska, I covered a missing and presumed snowmobiler who had crashed through the ice on Lake Minatare, near Scottsbluff, Neb.

It was pitch dark around 10 at night when I heard this same sound cominig from way out in the lake.

Talk about an eerie moment in the dark! However, not once did I think about aliens, but I sure did think about a dead man beating on the underside of the ice.
