Back to the moon*

NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter and Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Spacecraft were blasted into space yesterday afternoon atop the same Atlas V rocket.

The mission, ostensibly to look for water (ice) on the moon, will produce high resolution photographs of the surface and NASA is expecting to be able to see some of the Apollo landers, Moon Rovers and maybe even tire tracks!

How cool is that?! Oh, and finding water would also be pretty amazing.
