I saw this ad from Bauman Rare Books (http//www.baumanrarebooks.com/) in the NYT Book Review Sunday paper….. Reminds me of the changing nature of Journalism and how we’ll never see this sort of thing again.

No matter what happens — Aliens invade Earth, Jesus returns, World ends — whatever the big news now, there are no longer wire machines that spit out news on printed paper, To those who have no idea, in the olden days, the wire teletypes printed stories out on long rolls of paper and wire editors edited the copy and they were actually retyped.

Of course, now news is transmitted digitally and posted on a website immediately. Somehow, I don’t think that a screenshot of a webpage captures the same urgency or drama.
